Spring Turkey Hunts
The southern border of Rancho Tres Hijos is the Frio River itself allowing for booming rafters of Rio Grande Turkeys to be held year around in the large elms that grow along the river's banks. During the spring, turkeys venture out of the river bottoms into the areas of higher elevation making the hunts very successful, and equally as exciting! Upwards of 200 birds make up the Turkey population on RTH. Shotgun and archery hunting are the methods permitted for spring turkey hunts.
